Use Exercise To Speed Up Your Metabolism
Exercise is the best way to speed up your metabolism, but this does not necessarily mean slogging away at the gym for hours and hours. There are two easy ways you can gain more exercise whilst having fun. Anything that warms your body and gets your heart and lungs working is going to speed up your metabolism.
In the beginning of an exercise program it is better to start by going for walks and don't be too concerned if initially they are short walks and slow ones at that. Start gently and work up. Here are a couple of easy things you can do to get started.
Walking.
How about walking down to the store rather than driving? Or how about parking at the furthest point from the store entrance and walking? Why not use the stairs instead of the lift? With a little imagination you will be surprised just how much walking you can fit into your life.
Of course, if you are raelly serious about improving your health then you need to start walking for real. Try to make the whole experience more pleasant and more interesting by going for walks where the scenery is good or walking to a place of interest.
Hula Hoop.
If you want to boost your metabolism and lose a bit of weight without an exercise regime, the good old hula hoop is a fun way to do it. All you need is a $10 weighted hula hoop. Just twirl it around yourself for at least one minute at a time. You need to do this exercise for ten minutes everyday, but if you cannot do it all at once, don't worry. Just do it whenever you find a little time.
If you do it only ten times per day, each time spending just one minute on it, you will give your metabolism a boost each time, and bit by bit you will be able to lose weight. Plus it is fun to do!
You can't expect to run before you walk and you will find that once you start taking the steps towards your goal it will become easier and easier. Even if you don't like exercise you need to be aware of the fact that exercise is one of the fastest ways for you to reduce weight, improve your health and speed up your metabolism to help reach your goals.
The more exercise you do, the more energetic you will become and this in turn makes it a lot easier for you to achieve your daily activities. Exercise builds muscle, and lean muscle needs more enrgy to maintain, thus boosting your metabolism.
Exercise also helps to flush out toxins in the body and improve your digestive system with increased blood flow throughout the body so even small levels of exercise are going to benefit you to some degree.
Any exercise that involves the use of resistance such as weightlifting will boost your ability to lose weight considerably as muscle burns fat and any muscle that you can build will help to lower your fat levels. These resistance training type exercises also help to increase the strength of your bones that is very important as you age.
If possible, it is good to have some physical activity each day and at least you should assign time to do a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise three times per week.
If you find that you can't do that initially don't get hung up about it. Just take it steady and build up slowly. Just remember exercise will speed up your metabolism and help you lose weight. Doesn't that make it seem worth the effort?
